Edit Home Page

Customizing the Home page can enhance your patrons' experience.

important You must have permissions to edit the Destiny home page.

To edit the Home page

important Before you bring HTML code into Destiny, the HTML code must be developed in an HTML editor and tested. If bad Java code is brought into Destiny, users will be unable to access Destiny.

1. Go to your site.
2. Select Home > Edit Page > edit icon.
3. Click Edit Page. The Edit Home Page opens.
   
4. Click Edit Introductory Text. The Edit Introductory Text page opens.
• In the Title box, type the title you want for your Home page.
• In the Body box, enter the HTML code for your Home page.
  
5. When you are finished, click Save. You return to the Edit Home Page.
6. Click Add Group. The Add Group page opens.
   
   Groups allow you to consolidate certain pieces of information that pertains to the given group, such as a Resource group might contain links to dictionaries and other references that patrons want to have quick access to.
   
• In the Group Name box, type the group name you want for the group.
• In the Sort Order box, type the sort order of the group.
• Click Save. You return to the Edit Home Page.
• To create more Groups, repeat the previous steps.
  
7. If you want to add links to your Groups, click Add Link. The Add Home Link page opens.
• In the Display Text box, type the text you want the link to say.
• In the Group box, select the group you want the link to appear, click Save.
• To add more links to other groups, repeat the previous steps.
